San Fulgencio Men’s Shed - July Newsletter
We look forward to meeting new and old faces at our next “Drop In” on Monday 26th July
at the La Marina Sport Complex (by the "Satellite" roundabout), Calle Berna, 2A, 03177 San Fulgencio, Alicante.
If the first meeting is anything to go by there should be a good turnout.
It was very interesting to hear the views and suggestions of those who came along.
The meetings give the committee some idea as to the activities we will be carrying out, and also an
indication as to the type of tools and equipment we will need.
Meetings with Council members regarding the site and construction start date of the Men’s Shed are
ongoing, and as soon as we are made aware of the schedule we will post details.
In the meantime the committee are putting together fundraising events, these will help cover some of the
cost of the tools and equipment we will be needing.
Please keep an eye out for these events and we would love for you to come and support them.
A big thank you to Mary and her husband for donating a bicycle which will be our first project, and to
Barbara from Santa Pola for the donation of a selection of electrical tools.
Thanks also to Chris, Patricia and Jasmine for donating ten chairs and a large outside table, We look
forward to using them at our first barbeque.

Our online presence is developing, we have a facebook page, facebook group and a website with an attached
discussion forum.
As you may have seen online, one of our patrons is Marty Prior. we´ve added an article about him on the
website.
He´s currently doing gigs in the Costa Blanca area with his band "The Marchenas" I´ve been to see them a
few times and would recommend a visit to see them at one of their performances.
I´ve recently upgraded the web hosting to include an SSL certificate which makes it more secure.
Other improvements include dual langauge support (English & Spanish) so you can now select your preferred
langauge and also a "contact us" form so you can easily send a message to site admin.
Plans for the discussion forum include a "How To" documents section with guides for possible projects and
a "completed projects" section for people to show off what they´ve achieved.
I´m looking for someone with "Joomla!" experience to help with managing the website, the layout is fairly
basic at the moment as I´m an engineer and what´s needed is someone who is more familiar with the
templates and CSS.
We´re also looking for people to help out with fundraising events etc. this would mainly be helping set
up, and then generally helping run the event.
Anyone wishing to get more involved can contact me on facebook or via the website and we can meet up and
discuss what´s possible.
